Jamie vardy
According to exwhuemployee we have activated his release clause at 25m and are prepared to pay him a hefty wage to obtain his services.

My view is he performed excellent last year but i wouldnt be spending over the odds for a 29 year old who hasnt got much of a point to prove after winning the league.

Re: Jamie vardy
It's not going to happen. Not a fan of the bid. Don't see signs that anybody else is interested in him - speaks volumes. There is only one possible reason for wanting him and that is the goals for column - there's nothing else in his game you'd crave particularly, or suggests he could repeat this season. Last season he got 5 in 34 apps.

Disappointingly the bid kind of outs our recruitment tactics a little bit. It's as blunt as 'you've scored goals, we'll throw money at you'. All bluster, no science.

Re: Jamie vardy
My view is that

A) he won't want to leave Leicester who are playing in the champions league, for West Ham who are not, so his release clause is irrelevant to us.

B) I wouldn't want to pay £25 for a striker off the back of just 1 good season. It's like signing Gary Breen off the back of a decent world cup. Vardy scored 5 goals last season, so there is a chance that the likes of Carroll, Sakho and Valencia could outscore him next season.

So is the bid a fact now then? Considering our reqruitment tactics have been spot on last few seasons I'd hold fire on the criticism.

Re: Jamie vardy
Vardy only got 5 last year because he played the majority of it out wide if I recall. And like everyone saw in the England game yesterday he is much more effective up front. Don't be put off by last year's stats, entirely different circumstances

Re: Jamie vardy
Also if Alex V doesn't rate him then you know he's got real ability. The man is like a reverse scout

Re: Jamie vardy
Saying that Vardy has nothing in his game you'd crave other than goals is like saying that Katie Price doesn't enjoy attention. His pace and work rate are the best in the league bar none.

A ridiculous claim and said purely to gain responses. Like this one. So well done.
